Origins

Antonio Balma, known around the world as the father of compressed air, establishes a small compressor factory in Turin called 'BALMA Compressori'.


Enzo Fini establishes an electric motor and air compressor production facility in Bologna under the name 'FINI Elettro costruzioni meccaniche'.


Gianfranco Prevosto, a former Antonio Balma employee, founds Prevosto company, which later becomes CHINOOK-SHAMAL.


FINI assembles its first screw compressors, marking a major step into industrial-grade compressed air technology.

Expansion
Antonio Balma creates ABAC (Antonio Balma Aria Compressa) S.p.A., expanding the family's reach in the compressed air industry.

FINI begins production of rotary screw units with a patented profile, establishing technological leadership in the segment.

The company establishes a production plant in Shanghai, becoming one of the first Italian companies in China with complete foreign ownership.


ABAC reorganizes into two divisions; the industrial division is sold to ATLAS COPCO, while NUAIR continues piston compressor production.

NUAIR becomes a licensee for STANLEY and customizes a dedicated compressor product line.

NUAIR acquires CHINOOK-SHAMAL, FINI, and PRODIF, consolidating major Italian compressed air brands under one group.

Integration

NUAIR, FINI and SHAMAL merge to form FININUAIR, which becomes the largest piston compressor manufacturing group in the world.


FININUAIR purchases POWER SYSTEM, an industrial rotary screw compressor manufacturer, expanding into the industrial segment.

FININUAIR becomes a BLACK+DECKER licensee with a dedicated product line, reaching new consumer markets worldwide.

A new Chinese manufacturing facility opens in Haiyan, significantly increasing production capacity for global markets.

The company implements a new three-segment market strategy: CONSUMER, PROFESSIONAL, and INDUSTRIAL.
